Sometimes, we just need the world to be a little softer place.
Sometimes we crave a calmer, quieter place to land when we're spent and empty. Away from the noise and chatter. The endless words and struggle to be heard...to be first.

We so easily get caught up in the rush of it all that we don’t even realize what our soul craves is the gentle peace, the presence, the hope and faithfulness…of Jesus.

I was reminded recently that there is not a single day, nor a single moment in this life when He isn’t right there, right beside me. Even when we feel abandoned in our battles and in our circumstances, we're never truly alone. Even on the hard days when worry and fear fill my thoughts, He’s closer than a whisper away.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27) NIV

But even then, even on the hard days when we're wrung out and we're sure there's nothing left, there's healing in the giving. His presence is felt in the creating and the giving back of ourselves because in all the creating and the doing, there’s hoping, believing and living in THIS moment. It’s all happening right now. THIS day. THIS breath we take, whether through tears or with thanksgiving. How it stirs the soul and comforts the restless spirit to know He's in those quiet moments that bring us back to the center of who we are. When the day brings us to our knees with worry, with fear, with doubt...with prayer...
He's closer than a whisper away.
But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.
(Psalm 73:28) NIV
