God Knows




Sometimes it takes a few quiet moments on a warm day in springtime.


Sometimes it takes an afternoon with my hands in the dirt creating something pretty while the seagulls call to one another overhead.


Or maybe it takes a soul finally at peace. A heart surrendered in true contentment. When all the striving ceases and the fast-forward motion of things is no longer a path meant for me.


That’s when the dark door opens to let in the light of the brightest blessings.


Sometimes it takes years of prayers and tears and yearning, when our praying sounds more like begging and we’re sure our words float up to the ceiling and stay there.


Yet all the while, we’re navigating the stepping stones of this life never realizing that each necessary one prepares us and leads us to a much greater purpose…His purpose.


I’m praising our living, loving God today for the doors He has opened; the ones leading to the brightest blessings. He’s brought me safely across the stepping stones that rise up higher than the cries of my heart. And in my praise and thanksgiving, I’m reminded that God. Truly. Knows.


He knows the prayers you’ve prayed. The tears spilled from your brokenness. And He places yet another stepping stone before you that will lead you a little closer to His purpose. A little closer to all the answers. Just keep praying and believing, my friend.


He knows.


Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,

according to his power that is at work within us, 

to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus

throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Eph. 3:20-21)
